below are roughly the conversation i caught on tv n i tink its very touching to hear such a thing.
after the radio broadcast was saying something about family matters, a lady named Mrs He called in.
Mrs He: I recently had a quarrel with my daughter, how can i resolve this matter?
'Radio': I have a fren whose son was jailed for drug abuse and he had to do 120hrs of community service when he is released. after he was released, his dad did nt scold him. instead he helped his son to do community work together. why did he do dat? cos his dad does not believe in not strict disciplinary. his dad believes that in a family, one should understand one another, share woes n weal together. after his son heard this, his son turned over a new leaf immediately.
soon after another young lady, named Amy called in too.
Amy: I had recently quarrelled wif my mom over a trivial matter and i know that she is concerned about my matters. juz dat i was a bit off and scolded her. is there anything i can do to resolve this?
'Radio': u see, if u even quarrel wif ur mom, then its gd. tis shows dat the relationship between the 2 of u is still as sweet. when the parents are concerned about the children and the children ignores them, dat is when the parents really feel sad n rejected. n tis is a case where the relationship between the parents and the children is 'uncurable'.
after this conversation over the radio, the mom and the daugther reconcilled and forgave each other on their misdeeds.
i find the above fact very true n that it does not take strict disciplinary to actually teach a child. it takes two to understand n share weal n woes in between. i myself oso believes in this. n i really believe that as a parent, we muz blend together wif the children and share wadeva dat both sides have and so thus we will have a better understanding in between us.
