Taiwan 3rd Day

2day we woke up at 9+am, a bit later than the previous day, lol... slp until very shiok sia, haha. okok, 2day we went to chiang kai sheng memorial hall to take a look. the building was very big. but very far from the mrt station! we had to walk quite a distance before reaching the memorial hall itself. the place was quite grand and we also bought some sourveniors over there which amounted to NT$2000... we went down to taipei city hall to take a look at their Xinyi District. this is their so called 'CBD' area in taipei. we visited their Shinkong Mitsukoshi Departmental Store and eslite Bookstore. the Mitsukoshi Departmental Store is almost the same as our taka, only that it is bigger and has 3 different buildings over there. as for the eslite Bookstore, i can say its even bigger than Borders in Singapore and has a lot more variety of books. i personally bought 3 san guo books will my gal gal bought some labi xiaoxin comics and some female books. the total cost was roughly around NT$2000, haha... wad a shopping spree. i had wanted to buy more, but too bad, its going to be too heavy and cost me a bomb. :D

anyway we didnt manage to go taipei 101 cos of the time, by the time we finish shopping at eslite Bookstore, it was already 4+pm. so we rush down to Huaxi Night Market, at Longshan Temple Station. we went to Longshan Temple to do some praying and bought some amulets over there. as for the night market, it was a disappointment. nothing much over there, except stalls selling traditional stuffs for temples and the old. so we ate their 'tie ban' at one of the stalls at Huaxi Night Market. the food was not too bad, quite nice. :) after this dinner, we managed to see police come and chase those illegal stores away, lol... at around 8+pm, we still went over to Gongguan Night Market at Gongguan Station. the place was quite big actually, but cos by the time we walked from one end to the other, it was quite late le. we set off back to the hotel and shopped a bit at Ximen for our sourveniors and some misc items. nevertheless, we bought NT$5000 worth of sourveniors! and my gal gal herself bought two watches. oh my, NT$5k! below are some pictures taken.

Taiwan 2nd Day

1130am: 2day we planned to go dan shui's fisherman's wharf and dan shui old street. apart from these 2 main places, we oso planned to go to the hongmao castle, huwei fort and white palace. act there were nth much to see at these 3 'side' places. i actually missed the dan shui old street and went to 'hike' at the main street. still nt too bad la, still managed to walk into one of the small street of shops. i was trying to walk all the way from the dan shui station to fisherman's wharf, but was too far, lol... actually, we managed to walk all the way to hongmao castle and white palace. after which we took bus 'red 26' to huwei fort and fisherman's wharf. too much of walking le, convert to taking bus, lol... n the valentine's bridge at fisherman's wharf was soooo grand! i like the bridge very much cos of the scenery, the wind n the structure! took quite a few photos there of the scenery. :) there was nth much to buy or shop at fisherman's wharf cos we went there in the afternoon. by the time we finished walking dan shui, it was 4+ le. we quickly set our foot down to wufenpu and raohe night market. it was from one end of the mrt station to the other end. (dan shui station -> hou shan pi station)

wufenpu was soooooo big lor, even bigger than the shopping area in bugis. but b4 going to wufenpu, we went raohe night market. (cos we were very hungry...) we had to actually walk 15mins from wufenpu to raohe night market, crossing the taiwan train tracks. it was quite far from the mrt station. had quite some food over there: pig leg mee sua, hot smelly beancurd, big dumb wok noodle and bubble tea! then bought some clothes over there too. after which we came back to wufenpu and continued our shopping spree. :D below are some of the photos taken at the above mentioned places.

Taiwan 1st Day

touched down in songshan international airport at around 540pm. the airport looked normal to me. it doesnt compare to our changi airport which is more grand and more shops to look around. went to look for bus service dat will take us all the way to ximen. the single bus trip there cost NT$140, it took us around 1hr to reach ximen. then we walked in frm the bus stop to our hotel and checked in directly. our hotel was right in the middle of the whole area of the 1 'patch' of ximen, rainbow hotel. by the time we finished everything and got rdy to set off for our first destination, shilin night market, it was already 8pm. we went to buy the 25 mrt coin initially to take from ximen station to shilin station. below are some photos taken during the tour around shilin night market and shilin night market circle.

last nite as i was going home at 7pm after a short discussion wif darklight on the pocky on migration, i waited for cancan wif midnite and baby. then juz nice, ming ming was walking past the lobby. he saw me! then ask me about starting the migration. the migration files were act in my hdd la, but of course i cannot tell him dat... cos i had to bluff a bit ard the thing to try to go off if they had taken the files frm the pocky lappy. but in the end, their portable storage all nt enugh space... zzzzz... so in the end i had to use my hdd to copy... even if i took the files to the r&d room for migration to start, i still had to wait! the sharepoint server wasnt even up and the linking to the sql server oso a bit cocked up. so wait wait wait... 830pm, start copying files into the server and then at 9 we started testing 1 file. ok, everything seems gd n i went off... haiz, had to make baby, midnite and cancan wait for me for 15mins b4 they went off for dinner. then they still wait for me for dinner, so paiseh... haiz...

Concuss Straight on Bus

wah 2day i on bus totally concuss straight after i sat down. too tired to open my eyes to keep myself awake. during the journey, a lot of ppl were boarding the bus and walking towards the back. i was sitting in the middle of the bus. then cos i was in a slp state, my body couldnt support my posture. so i tend to sway towards the 'corridor' of the bus. then a lot of ppl walking pass ma, then i opened my eyes n went back to my original position. :\ furthermore, the most interesting thing is dat, when the bus was coming to a stop in a bus-stop, it turned direction and i swayed all the way left! (almost fell out of my seat man!) luckily i woke up in time n used my footing to stop me frm falling off the seat. then i look back to the guy sitting to my right and smiled to him. :D then i went back to slp again, lol... embarrassed sia... the whole bus was filled wif ppl... :\
