today was a very wonderful day for all of us. to say, it was very fun to have the whole team bbq-ing together. let me list down all those who appeared for today’s bbq. of course me, pradip, eugene, jing jing, lih fen, jimmy, valli, vanamali, jamie, rajan, jeanette, jose, lin jy, alex, kris, swaroop, bp, anton, muthu and heeling. oh ya, 4got to mention that it is held at jose’s condo (which is quite near my condo too, haha…)
initially asked bp to allow jose and some of us to go off early first, so after getting his approval of ‘not making it official’ to go off early, jose n eugene set off for the journey to jose’s condo at 5pm. i couldnt make it to go with them cos i was having an internal meeting. oh well, this was the funny part. both jose n eugene took 183 to clementi at 5pm. at the most give them 15mins to wait for 1 bus. at 6pm, they were still on the way to clementi! lol!!! there was massive jam and it took them 45mins just to get to clementi, haha… then when me n lih fen was driving down to fetch them, they were still waiting for cab until we reach their waiting area, lol…
then when they have all boarded lih fen’s car, jose was telling us that the caterer supposingly reached at 530pm, however, due to the maid has no $$, so he has to wait, lol… then after waiting for a while, the caterer said he will come bck again at 630pm, but we are still on the way to jose’s house! lol!! then the caterer waited again for another 30mins b4 we reached jose’s house lor, haha… poor caterer, had to wait for sooooo long. :P (at that time, me, kris, jose and eugene were in lih fen’s car, lol…)
okok, after we reached jose’s house at 7pm, we started preparing for the bbq. while eugene and i started to wonder how to setup the bbq pit, jose and kris started to get the food down. oh ya, just want to complain 1 thing about jose’s bbq pit, haha… everything looked so gd from the outside, but then place to put charcoal is sooooo weird! its like, erm… the position of the things are not fixed correctly! in the end, ok, we decided to change the layout of the items there, lol… so after setting up the place, i went to help jose to get the food down while eugene setup the fire with lih fen.
after we came down with the food, eugene was still setting up the fire. so we all helped to layout the food on the table. then at which we received news that, the rest of the gang, actually dropped off at hume’s park 2! which is actually 2 condos away from jose’s one! lol… poor them, had to walk all the way to jose’s condo, lol…
at around 730pm, almost all reached the place already. fire still hasnt really started up, still trying to make a ‘big fire’. then rajan was the first to ask how come fire not yet started, he wan come here to eat one leh, hahaha. too bad! wahahaha! all was so excited to help out at the bbq pit, rearranging the charcoal, setting up the fire, preparing the food to be bbq-ed and fanning the fire. it took us some time to get the fire up and running. but it was very successful after everyone’s help in setting up. n the fire was really very big, ok not big, the heat was very strong. :P it is strong enough to heat up or cook the food. gd job guys, we gotten a very gd ‘smoke screen’, hahaha…
okok, so the whole event was actually all laugh and talks and fun. really had my fun there with everyone. just love to see everyone so get together. the event lasted till about 10pm and then we started to slowly pack and then have a farewell speech. oh well, it was me who start first again. :P ok then, i started, haha… first and foremost, wan to thank thida first, cos i was under her for very long and learnt quite a lot of things la. although sometimes she is quite unreasonable la, haha… but too bad she isnt here, haha… then went on to thank everyone for iels, even mentioned everyone’s module that linked to me, haha… then of course really had fun today n in iels. wish everyone their best and hope without me around, they can still enjoy. :) most importantly, i had a lot of hugs frm quite a lot of ppl, haha… yeah, my speech i guess was the longest, then on came alex, anton and lin jy. jamie even dropped tears during the speech… poor her, to see so many close friends leaving…
to me, i dont actually want to leave de… but becos of family, i had to move nearer, give my family more time by reaching home earlier. since my xiao niu juz came out, dont want to always reach home at 8pm, hav dinner and bath till 9+pm. by then, xiao niu would hv slpt already. dont have enough time to interact with her. so i made the decision to leave the company. guys, really i didnt really meant to leave u all, but really its all for the family. but i promise, i will treat u all frens as always. frankly speaking, i hv nv treated u all as colleagues when i gotten to know u. colleagues and frens are different rite, when i treat u all frens meaning u all are closer to me liao, hehe… yah, ok, dun worry, i hv promised all of u that i shall occassionally hold some events so all of u can get together. i do not wish to break contact with anyone of u. so hopefully in the future, we can still meet up for coffee (ok, i prefer tea :P) or some events like karaoke or bowling or even sports like badminton or table tennis!
btw, look forward to something that i will give u all before i leave. it will be something so special that i believe, no one has done it before. :) i love all of you for giving me this last chance to spend the bbq nite with all of you! muackz!!!
