today marks the date of xiao niu being born! she was born on this date (1st feb 2010) at this time (2:43am). anyone wants to buy 4d or toto? haha… anyway, she is very cute and very healthy. come out only cry n cry, must be too cold for her (cos the delivery ward too cold i guess. :P) she will be named carabelle liu yun xuan. :) now to tell u how our schedule is like and what is going to happen later.
| 2:45pm :- | we reached thomson medical center, proceeded to observation ward. |
| 3:00pm :- | nurse inserted the induction pill while i went to settle the paper work. oh ya, very coincidentally, the queue number i took was 2010! (actually i pressed 20 times from 1990 before it came out 2010. :P) oh, actually wanted to normal 1 bedded room de, but then the receptionist say that all normal 1 bedded room already taken up. i tot the clinic should already apply for the room for me, oh well, in the end we had to take up the premium 1 bedded room at $158 more. (total of $588… :\) |
| 4:00pm :- | the nurse came back to check on baby. after checking for the final time, baby is able to go up to the ‘hotel room’ to take a rest before going down later at 8.30pm. oh ya forgot to add in one thing, baby was asking for exemption from drip from the nurse, but the nurse say dr. adrian normally will ask the mummy to go drip one. so if baby can make dr. adrian dun drip her, the nurse will kneel down to her, haha… |
| 4:25pm :- | we went up to our ‘hotel room 509’ at the 5th floor (obviously it is 5th floor given the room number…) so i began to take photo of the room and shortly after, ordered our meals for the day. |
| 7:55pm :- | nurse came in to ask us to go down for 2nd rd of checkup before going to the delivery ward. |
| 8:15pm :- | i was asked to be ‘removed’ from the observation ward and wait outside while dr. adrian proceeded to check the dilation and to burst the water bag. at this time, the dilation is recorded at 3cm. (gd progress according to 1cm per 2hours.) |
| 8:35pm :- | baby was pushed to delivery ward to ‘prepare’ for the delivery. |
| 10:00pm :- | pain was starting to get unbearable for baby. she decided to try for laughing gas. pain was relieved for a while… |
| 10:45pm :- | baby’s threshold reached the limit, there was no choice but to go for epidural. poor baby, i see her struggling here and there, so we have decided to go for the epidural… i was once again, ‘chased’ out of the room to wait for the process to be done. (cervix only opened till 3.5cm… 0.5cm dilation after 2hours, too long for such a small opening…) |
| 11:15pm :- | epidural process done. heard from baby that it wasnt that bad after all. the pain was more scary than the needle done by epidural. (actually also good to hv it when the pain is unbearable. so she wont be scared of the needle, haha… :P) |
| 01:00am :- | nurse came to check for dilation, is around 6-7cm already. so is going to give birth anytime soon. |
| 02:00am :- | baby is fully dilated, dr. adrian proceeds to do the delivery. baby tried her very best to push xiao niu out from inside the womb while doc helped her by using vacuum. i personally dun really matter whether its medically helped or naturally helped, as long baby is fine and xiao niu is fine, i am very happy liao. |
| 02:43am :- | xiao niu is born! she weighs 2930g and is 49cm in height! this is her official birthday! |
| 03:15am :- | dr. adrian helped to finish cleaning up the placenta and sew up her wound. after which we prepared and return to our ‘hotel room’. |
