大笑江湖

weird movie wif weird storyline, haha… quite impress wif some of the sections of the movie. cos they managed to make me laugh quite some time during those sections. one of the better ones was when zeng zhi wei try to kill the main lead 3 times by 'viciously turning his neck’, but the main lead’s neck is ultra soft because he was ‘trained’ to peek at people’s comics, lol… and also another classic one was when the main lead was going to jacky wu’s hut to look for kung fu scripture and accidentally destroyed the whole hut by triggering the booby trap, lol… n the most classic one was, learning english! lol!!! dat one was one of the better classics in the movie. haha… n i was quite surprised to see mark lee in the movie! wad a proud singaporean, haha… i give tis movie a 3/5 rating as the movie’s laughing points were nt enugh and not powerful enugh. but overall still nt too bad.

Suntec Outing

after leaving from jennifer’s wedding, 3 of us headed down to suntec! as baby wanted to buy the mix nuts and raisins, we decided to head down to suntec’s carrefour! first we went to carrefour to get our beloved almonds, cranberries and green peas. after which we went to have our dinner at souperlicious. it is a small cafe corner that sells soups, burgers and salads. we ordered their salad and soup sets. the food were quite nice, up to standard. below are some photos that we took. :D

Alvin and Jennifer’s Wedding

today we attended our above mentioned fren’s wedding. it was a church wedding and also our first time attending such an event. when we reached there, we were quite surprised as the church looked quite old de, but still nicely taken care of. it could have been the place where they first met or the place where they did went for their church events. it was like any other weddings seen in those church weddings. jennifer would be walked in (from the entrance) by her father to alvin, who is waiting at the front area (the place where they would be announced husband and wife, as well as sign the marriage certificate) there were singing of christian songs and some form of advice / preaching by the pastor, who also happened to be their JP. so after the ceremony ended, we proceeded to lunch just outside the church. the food was quite nice and so was the laksa. lol… we left after we finished our lunch, which was ard 1pm, and we went down to suntec to do some shopping n for dinner. :)

Ah Ma’s Funeral Day 2

today early morning at 8am, we reached the funeral parlour. we were told to reach ard this timing as the ritual to move out starts at 830am. shortly after we reached there, we had our breakfast and after which the ritual started. more friends and relatives arrived to pay their last respects to my grandma b4 the final hour to move off. the ritual ended ard 930am. oh ya, 4gt to mention, there were photo taking during the funeral. baby and me were puzzled as to why there were photo taking, could be for memory sake. no idea too, 1st time i see this type of thing happening. :\

ard 1000am, we set off to the cremation place by 3 private buses. the ritual at the cremation place lasted about an hour. all of us were very very sad when my grandma was peacefully sent off to be cremated. haiz, hope my grandma can leave in peace… after that, we did the ritual to clean off all the ‘dust and dirt’ by washing our hands and faces, eating a fruit and taking an ang bao. we also changed our clothes from white/black to red, this is to make sure that we don’t bring the bad luck back to our place.

after all these final stuffs, we went off to have lunch at a nearby restaurant. it was a 8 course lunch if i never remembered wrongly. the food there was quite nice, luckily we didn’t skip the lunch, haha… (initially baby wanted to skip the lunch by driving there in our car. :\) lunch was over very quickly, roughly in less than an hour as the food were served quite fast. we didnt even had enough ppl to fit into the 13 tables, so in the end, we split up to 7 persons per table, haha… eat finish liao is quite full de loh. :P

ard 1pm, we left the eatery place and went back to the funeral parlour. shortly after final checks on our stuff, we set off for home le. i was requested by my cousin to help ferry his mother and sister back to singapore as they were not leaving today, so i did him this favour. :) along the way, we so seriously wanted to find the a & w until we came across this brand, e & w and baby told me it was a & w. we were all mistaken by that e & w, haha… even though we thought that the a & w was supposed to be quite near to KL, n we also assumed that we came bck frm a different way n missed it, i was still determined to check out all the stopovers, haha… finally we were paid off when we came across a & w ard 1hr 30mins of drive! we quickly stopped over and bought 2x root beer double floats, 2x curly fries and 2x nuggets. (they were in fact 2 sets, lol…) n so after buying, we set off all the way straight towards singapore without stopping, except to pump petrol in johor. by the time we reached singapore / home, it was already 730pm. :) finally we were home!

Ah Ma’s Funeral Day 1

we (baby and me) set off early at 7am in the morning, with my cousin’s bf (eric) to my grandma’s funeral in malaysia. had our early breakfast by ordering mac at drive thru. then off we went to malaysia. the whole journey took abt 4hrs+ from johor to kuala lumpur. however, when we reached the outskirts of KL, we decided dat we should go straight to the funeral place, instead of gg to my auntie’s house first. n so, we tried our luck using our gps and road signs to get there. we had a difficult time while trying to locate and drive to our destination as the signboards weren’t very informative. luckily along the way, we discovered that gps has a location detection function, can tell us where we are now. so we followed the road on the gps. finally reached the funeral place at ard 1230pm.

when we reached there, we had our lunch. also talked to my mom and learnt about my grandma’s last few moments of her life. we were all very sad about my grandma passing away… all of us didnt had a chance to see her the last time, so cfm will be very sad de lor… haiz… but from wad i tink, it would be better for my grandma to leave rather than stay on and suffer. i believe it would be a better choice for her. anyway, after paying our respect to my grandma, we went out on my cousin’s car to a shopping centre to get our toothbrushes. yes, u didnt see wrongly, toothbrushes… we only realised that we didnt bring our toothbrushes when we reached there. :\ we went to the times square to have baby’s lunch and to walk. eventually, we spent most of our time to eat rather than walk, haha… below are the photos of the food that we had at room 18.

soon after baby’s lunch, my cousin came back to fetch us liao, n so we left at ard 4pm. at nite was the 3 interval ritual as wad my mom briefed me. finally was the burning of the stuffs for my grandma. the whole ritual at nite lasted from 730pm to 11pm. it was a long nite for all of us and we all sure feel very tired. my parents stayed and slpt at the funeral parlour while baby and me went to my cousin’s house to rest for the nite.
